MYLYFE · GUIDES FOR YOUR LITTLE WORLD

A small audience can be the right audience

Share a moment without sharing more than you meant to.

A social post has two choices: what you want to say and who you want to hear it. Taking a moment over the second choice can make sharing feel more comfortable.

A quiet coastal room with a broad view

Start with the audience

MYLyFE offers friends-only posts and posts for all beta members. Friends-only content is intended for accepted friends. Choosing the beta community opens that post to other signed-in testers, including people you have not connected with. An invitation or an unanswered friend request does not by itself make someone an accepted friend.

Neither setting can stop a recipient from taking a screenshot or recording their screen. Before posting something personal, consider whether you would still be comfortable if the person viewing it saved a copy. For information that needs strict confidentiality, a social feed is usually the wrong place.

Look beyond the subject of a photo

A nice photograph can include information you were not thinking about: a letter on a desk, an address on a parcel, a school badge or a face in the background. Look around the edges of the frame. Crop or cover details that do not belong in the story. Ask before sharing someone else’s private photo or conversation.

Profile pictures are separate from feed posts. You can use your MYLyFE avatar or an uploaded square photo. A profile picture identifies you around the community, so choose one you are comfortable showing to other beta members. Switching back to your avatar does not change the character living in your room.

Give a video a little context

A short caption helps people decide whether to watch a clip. Tell them what the moment is: a small project, a pet doing something unexpected or a view from a walk. Only upload video and audio you have permission to share. A song being available to stream elsewhere does not automatically mean you have permission to include it in your own broadcast or uploaded video.

The beta accepts MP4 and WebM files up to 25 MB and limits each account to five video posts. H.264 MP4 is the most practical choice for playback across phones. Some iPhone videos use MOV or HEVC; exporting a compatible MP4 before uploading can avoid playback problems.

Live is different from a post

A broadcast shares what is happening now. Check the camera frame, microphone and surroundings before going live. Keep private documents and other people out of the shot unless they have agreed. When sharing a desktop screen, close messages and tabs that contain private information.

MYLyFE beta stations are intended for all beta members, rather than a friends-only audience. Stream playback links can be copied. The current station setup disables recording by the platform, but that does not prevent a viewer from making their own recording. The on-air indicator stays visible while you move around MYLyFE; use End broadcast when you are finished.

Changing your mind is allowed

You can delete your own feed posts. Deleting a video also removes its stored file from the beta’s media storage. A deletion cannot retrieve copies someone has already saved outside MYLyFE. If a post raises a safety or privacy concern, send a report through Beta feedback and include enough detail for the operator to find it. Never include your password or recovery code in a report.
